14.1 Extension Overview

The Galio Research Chrome Extension is a browser tool that allows users to quickly save research papers from academic websites directly to their Galio Research account.

14.2 Information Collected by the Extension

The extension collects only the following information necessary for its core functionality:

• Research paper PDF files that you choose to save
• Paper metadata (title, authors, publication details, DOI, journal information, publication date)
• Upload status and progress data (stored temporarily in browser storage)

14.3 How Extension Data is Used

• PDF files and metadata are transmitted directly to your Galio Research account via our secure API at eaglecite.com
• Upload status is stored temporarily in browser storage to provide real-time progress updates
• No data is shared with third parties
• All data handling follows the same security and privacy standards as our main platform

14.4 Extension Permissions

The extension requires the following permissions:

• Storage: To maintain upload status and provide real-time UI updates during paper saves
• Host Permission (eaglecite.com): To communicate with our API for uploading papers to your account
• The extension only activates when you explicitly click to save a paper
